Posterior Disc bulge along L3-L4, L4-L5 vertebrae is most commonly due to overstress of spine. The leading factors are bike riding, over exercise, trauma and chronic smoking. Chronic smoking (direct or passive) causes weakness of outer protective layer of nucleus pulposus in spine called annular fibrous, which secondarily induces bulging of disc posteriorly. In your case posterior bulging of disc is intermediate stage, which is irritating spinal nerves. If this disc bulging enhances, than spinal canal stenosis (shortening) begins. In your case interventional pain management is necessary alongwith physiotherapy. Weight loss is necessary if you are overweight or heavy built.
Next Steps
Your body needs now complete rest untill recovery. Avoid bike riding or vigorous exercise by yourself. Avoid forward bending or lifting of heavyweights. You should wear spine support like lumbar-corcet belt while walking or sitting. Consult a good orthopaedician for clinical examination, laboratory investigations and treatment. Blood for ESR, TC,DC, C-RP are necessary to rule out any chance of infection or epidural abscess.
