I have been breastfeeding my baby who is two months old, since then I am having issues of sore nipples. I consulted many lactation experts, tried all correct postures of feeding and all sort of tricks that have been told to me by doctors. I feel little better with nipple shields..I want to know can they be used for long term, because without shields I am unable to feed.

Can continue till the cracks in nipple heals, in between apply luqman e hayat oil, keep for few hours wipe it and feed the baby, mostly it is due to dry skin there it cracks if you keep it moist in between then it will give it time to heal
It will heal by its own you just have to give time
Mostly mothers are emotionally disturbed due to this so not to worry much
This time will pass

Continue using nipple shield if you and the child are comfortable with Breastfeeding using shield. No issue to use it for long term.
For sore nipples, can apply breastmilk or coconut oil to solve the issue.
Direct breastfeeding is an issue may be due to 2 reasons:
mother having flat nipples so the child is sucking on the nipples not on the breast resulting in sore nipples
second, the child is having tongue tie and so is not able to grasp or reach to breast to suck.
