Hi,
I am 34 years old male suffering from social anxiety, Panick attacks and insomnia. This has been happening since more than 5 years now and I have tried therapy which hasn't helped. It's now taking a toll on me and my personal life as it is messing with my normal functioning and has made me more recluse and avoid social situations and things like taking pictures. Sometimes the Panick attack is so bad that I have a drink as a "confidence booster" and need to get "high" before a social event to curb my anxiety. Some doctor has adviced CBT with medication like antidepressants. I am open to both but I really am against SSRIs as a medication because I've heard of it having adverse affects on libido. I also don't think SSRIs will solve my problem of insomnia. Wouldn't benzodiazepines with therapy be a better option? Please advise.
