Slip disc c-5/6
Was feeling continous but not very high pain 1.5 months ago, this pain turned in to a horrible pain after 15 days. Applied ointments, gel & pain killers, which did not work at all. Ointments were rather increasing it. Consulted an orthopedic which recommended MRI test. From MRI he observed that the problem is that of slip disc c-5/6. He gave nerv pain killers & muscle pain killer & also informed that the discs will go back to it's natural place with natural immunity & there is no medicine available to shift it to it's natural position. I am having these pain killers since last one month, although pain has reduced from very high to medium intensity, but the problem is I am still not able to do my day to today activities & laying on bed most of the time.

Hi. Looks like you have disc bulge at C5-C6 level which is causing neck pain, which may be radiating down the hands. This is usually caused by a pinched nerve in the neck. Conservative management includes pain medication, like you're already on and physical therapy exercises. These include cervical stretches and neck extension exercises, taught by a good physiotherapist. If conservative management does not give sufficient relief, you can consult a pain physician and consider a procedure called cervical epidural injection for your neck pain. Good luck.
Next Steps
If the pain is not too bad, after consulting with your pain physician or orthopedician, you can start physical therapy exercises, as mentioned.
Health Tips
Avoid lifting heavy weights, jerky long distance travels and strenuous activity. During work, make sure you've a good ergonomic chair and you take periodic breaks ( every 30 mins ) during continuous work. Good firm bed mattress with a medium sized pillow will help.
