My mom has started to get red skin patches initially on her leg which subsequently spread to hands and other parts of the body as well. She may have vasculitis because the skin patches seem like that.

Don't make assumptions and your own diagnosis.
It's worth nothing.
Get it checked out by a dermatologist in person for further evaluation and management.
To make diagnosis is his job. Not yours.
