I have tinea versicolor and at the same time developed a angry red rash. I am on 2 x 180mg of fexofenadine daily and i am using aveeno to help with redness. I have had this for 4 weeks and i have not used any new products etc. I am down as the itching is disrupting my sleep, it looks unslightly. Doctors will not refer me to a dermatologist for another 2 weeks. The patches are hot to touch. Warm baths make them appear more and they are mainly over the Tinea. Selsun is unbearable, still using it

You are suffering from what Dermatologist call urticaria. Common causes are food allergy, infection or drugs taken for some condition. It presents with itching resulting in formation of red rashes which we call hives or wheals. Although in most cases cause remains unknown in spite of a thorough search. It can be symptomatically treated with medicines so that you do not get any new hives. The treatment should be prolonged until it resolves which usually takes 1 to 6 months.
