Significance of Cylinder and Axis
Hi, I had made the eye checkup for spectacles of my sister who is 12yrs old. Firstly i went to a doctor for her checkup and the observation was (Spherical- -0.5 & -1.00) , Cylinder-nil, Axis-nil, BCAV-6/6) for right and left eye resp. but again i made the checkup with 2nd doctor, he added CYL- -025/-025 & Axis- 060'/90- for Right & left eye resp. I want to know that, is Cylinder and axis observation significant for making the spectacle of a child? which report is better, 1st or 2nd one?

Both prescriptions may be right. The addition of - 0.25 cylinder is not very significant, but may aid in clearer vision for your child. Such small differences in prescription are very common. What is important is your child wears the glasses constantly.

though there may not be much difference between the two however you may go to an optician anget the subjective trial of both , and get dispensed the better one .
