Severe bouts of Cough

Asked for Female, 54 Years

I've been having severe bouts of cough intermittently since past 1 week.It starts randomly&becomes so severe that I feel that I may vomit.There's no stimulus eliciting.It just begins with an irritation in throat randomly.Im scared of consuming any food lest the cough start again.It is sometimes followed by belching. Is it ENT or gastrointes thing?
