Hi my wife is detected with secondary dengue infection. Does this mean she has two types of dengue virus in her body? When platelet count starts increasing again doors that mean dengue is cured?

Hello, I understand your feeling. We cannot confirm dengue unless and untill it is confirmed in the blood investigations. A same person can get infected once again with a dengue virus and may have symptoms because they are various strains of dengue virus. Yes increase in platelets count implies that the person is recovering from the condition. Thank you
