Removal of plate from leg
My father (Age - 59 years) had an accident 26 years back, when he injured his right leg. a T-plate was put in his leg, which he hasnt removed till yet. he is diabetic and suffers from hypertension. Would you recommend getting the plate removed? he is feeling some pain in his leg now(but that may be because he is overweight- ht 5 ft 5 in, wt -95 kg) If yes, what eould be the approximate cost of the same. Please tell how time will it take to recover?

Hello....bone plates remain in situ for years ... if it causes any problem it will be removed ... cost of removal is less than cost of operation.. it takes less time but done under general anesthesia....but blood sugar and blood pressure should be under control......consult orthopedic surgeon in nearest hospital.
