Related to Flaky dead skin on scalp
Hello Dr,
My wife suddenly started having dandruff kind of thing on her scalp...Not sure if it is dandruff or something else..On diff diff places of scalp some flaky dead skin cells making their house. Just wanted to let you know that I too use to have this kind of dandruff but now it's less for me so is this a contagious problem...And how to she ll get rid of this issue ...She is more worried because she is having long beautiful hairs but after this dandruff started she is having too much hair fall...Please suggest...And if possible leave your contact number so I can talk...

Dandruff can be treated with lotions and shampoo (not commercial ones). Some people do have more oily scalp which cause visible flakes which we call dandruff. There are some other conditions also which can present like flaking of the scalp and have to be ruled out. Do not apply oil on scalp as it will increase the problem.
