Regarding medicine to be taken by mother
Hello doctor,
I am suffering from URINARY TRACT INFECTION from past few days.. I gave birth to baby 45days back through c-section.
I am exclusively breastfeeding my baby (45days old baby).
The doctor has prescribed me NIFUTIN 100MG TABLET
(NITROFURANTOIN)
twice daily to treat UTI.
Is this medicine safe during breastfeeding a 45days old baby?

The use of nitrofurantoin in breastfeeding mothers is generally safe, as only small amounts transfer into the breast milk.
