Reducing platelet count
My friend is suffering frm fever frm past 4-5 days.He took medicines and injections but still fever is not reducing.He also says that he has joint pain and is not even able to walk or stand.His platelet count is 1,40,000.Is there any particular food item that he can consume that will help in increasing platelet count ?

Hi, A normal platelet count ranges from 150,000 to 450,000 platelets per microliter of blood. However decrease in 10,000 platelets is insignificant. Foods that can increase platelets are papaya, pumpkin, spinach, bitter lemon, bitter melon, indian gooseberry etc.., but there is no evidence.. Kindly consult Physician for further evaluation....
