Hi! Acute tonsillar infection is quite common during childhood, usually each episode resolves with medication but you have to be aware that recurring throat infection can lead to other problems as well including heart related issues. If a child is experiencing more than 5 episodes of tonsillitis in a year and each episode is characterised by high fever, throat pain and difficulty in swallowing food then surgical treatment is needed to remove the tonsils.
Next Steps
Visit ENT specialist for opinion regarding tonsil removal surgery
Health Tips
Practice warm saline gargling daily
