Recurrent lock jaw
Hello Doctors. I am a medical graduate. My sister is having a problem of lock jaw. Every time she woke up for sleep, she finds difficulty in opening the mouth and after 3-4 min. It's all normal. She consulted a ENT specialist , He suggested a muscle relaxant nd some pain reliever medication but none of them helps Her. I want to know about the seriousness of this disease. What are the ways for prevention and management of lock jaw?

Hello. Your sister may be having ligamentous laxity of TM junction. I think you should consult a Maxillo-facial surgeon. Also Vit D deficiency may present as joint stiffness. Check her serum Vit D level. Hope this helps.
