Boils could be due to infection caused by bacteria, and can form abscess as well. However, there could be many other reasons as well such as cysts, folliculitis (infection of hair follicle) etc. Also you need to differentiate between boil vs bump swelling - so better to consult a physician or dermatologist if it persists. You can book an online consultation /share a pic for better clarity. Diabetes is a lifestyle disorder and you are at higher risk if there is a family history.
