Rat bite causes rabies?
Could I have rabies by a rat bite? I got a tetanus injection but I did not get an anti-rabies injection.

Hello there. I can understand your concern. If you did not get rabies vaccine done, it's fine. It's not needed also. Tetanus is sufficient. Just take care of the wound, keep it clean, apply metrogyl -p ointment over it twice a day . If you see any swelling or pus formation, consult a physician immediately near you because it may be due to pus formation inside and you may require antibiotics. Rats usually are not considered as rabies carriers. Best regards. Dr. Anil Kumar Jain.
