Rabbit bite. Kindly help on this!

If you have received the tetanus shot and it has not been more than 5 yrs then its okay no need to get a tetanus shot. Just clean the bite area and put the pressure on it with a sterile gauze.

If it is domesticated then chances are next to nil but if the rabbit has been rescued from the wild and has been recently staying in at the house , rh n it is advisable to go for Rabies post exposure prophylaxis. Since , it is not known if the rabbit when in wild environment was in touch with any rabid animal or not. Since bleeding has happened. Wash the area thoroughly with running water and soap , take a tetanus toxoid. This is compulsory. Visit your nearest Govt Hospital or a private clinic, consult with the Doctor. Keep in mind whether the rabbit is a home bred one or recently brought in from wild. Spread of rabies via rabbits is very very rare. Reported only in wild rabbits.  Hence discuss and consult.
