R Arthritis, DCM and risk of Tofacitinib
My mother has been suffering from dilated cardiomyopathy since 2017. Recent Echo: 45% No history of heart attack Total Cholesterol: 230 mg/dL LDL Cholesterol: 158.7 mg/dL (High) HDL Cholesterol: 52.81 mg/dL (Borderline) Hemoglobin: 11.7 g/dL ESR: 24 mm/hr She was diagnosed with uveitis 6 months ago and was given prednisolone eye drops by the ophthalmologist. After consulting a rheumatologist, she was prescribed Tofacitinib Jakura 5mg and Meconerv Plus for 5 weeks. After completing the 5-week dose, she consulted the rheumatologist again, and he has now prescribed Tofacitinib for 3 more months. Tofacitinib has high risk of cancer and other cardiovascular risks. How to avoid this ? Such a complicated health situation. The doctor says its low dose but we're terribly scared.
