Yes, you can take the Pneumovax vaccine now since it is different from Influvac Tetra (flu vaccine). Pneumococcal Vaccine Guide: ✅ Vaccine Name: Pneumovax 23 (PPSV23) – protects against 23 pneumococcal strains. ✅ Duration of Protection: Lasts 5-10 years depending on individual immunity. ✅ Doses in a Lifetime: For healthy adults: Usually one dose is enough. If at high risk (elderly, immunocompromised): A booster may be needed after 5-10 years. Since this is your first dose, you’re good to go. If unsure, consult a doctor before taking a booster in the future. 👍 If you found this useful and need further consultation, connect with me on Practo for video consultations. Dear Sir, Thank you for your query. Since you have already taken the Influvac Tetra vaccine, you can safely take the Pneumovax 23 (PPSV23) vaccine now. It helps protect against pneumococcal infections, including pneumonia, which is beneficial for individuals above 60 years of age. Answers to your questions: 1. Can you take Pneumovax now? Yes, you can take Pneumovax 23 now as there are no contraindications with the flu vaccine. 2. How long will its benefits last? The Pneumovax 23 vaccine provides protection for at least 5 years, after which a booster dose may be considered based on your health condition. 3. How many doses do you need in your lifetime? Usually, one dose is sufficient for healthy adults. However, for high-risk individuals (e.g., chronic conditions, immunocompromised), a booster dose may be recommended after 5–10 years. To discuss your case in detail and get personalized advice, I recommend scheduling a consultation with me. You can also reach out to me on eight zero zero nine eight two one three three two via WhatsApp.
