Query about smoking
I had a cyst in my left submandibular salivary gland which I had to operate. The operation took place in Calcutta Medical Research Institute on 17.04.17 and Anupam Golash was the surgeon. The operation was successful. And the cyst was benign and non-malignant. The biopsy report was clear too. I was inder medication for almost 3 weeks after the operation and couldn't eat or talk properly since there was an intraoral incision under the tongue. Now I am almost fit, having normal diet and can almost talk normally. Hereby, stating all my details, I have a vital question now to you... From when I will be able to smoke and drink alcohol? I am not an addict. I don't smoke daily or regularly ... Like 4-5 in a week. Or during special occasions it can become 4-5 in a day too! It depends. I am a also not an alcohol addict. I drink rarely, like once in 3 months. Now, I just need to know from when actually I can smoke and drink. Won't it affect me in anyway? I couldn't ask this to my doctor.

Actually drinking is not going to affect the area or be detrimental to your surgical area but it is to your health. Smoking has a bad impact on the healing as it causes excessive heat in the mouth and also there is tobacco. So try and wait till the surgical scars are completely healed and the mucosa/skin over the operated area is completely closed and healthy.
Next Steps
Till then have Nicotex, smoking is not worth the risk
