I have a question about an issue (maybe) in my quad. Every time I foam roll over my left quad, it feels like as if I am going over a stone or a hard object. This only occurs on my left quad about 3/4 down and I am fairly sure it is in between my rectus femoris and vastus lateralis (not outside of my quad, but middle of the outside).

My hypothesis.
Your sitting habits need to be evaluated. If you are sitting with left leg crossed, then your gluteal muscles remain stretched and inhibited. To compensate for them the hamstrings overwork to get the hip extension. They also cause reduced knee extension at the stance phase. To get the knee extension, the quadriceps need to overwork thus creating stiffness within them and the type of sensation that you are having.
