In the middle of the night, a bat hit the ceiling fan and landed on my blanket. I only found out few hours later after I woke up in the morning. When I picked it up (wearing gloves and used tissue paper) to set outside, it was alive.
From what I've read so far online it was most likely a fruit bat and that they almost never bite, but if they do one doesn't realise and the marks are non present.
Since the bat was settled onto the blanket for a few hours and I must have moved around in my sleep, should I take a precautionary rabies shot? And if yes, what's the ideal window?
