Possible Std
Hi, I went to the doctor about two weeks ago to get treated for a uti. They did a urine test and a blood test on me. From my understanding it was only a uti. My husband also gets them. He went to the er on Monday for seeing blood in his urine. They told them that he had one also but his white blood cell count was high, and one of his testicles are swollen. They had him tested for Chlamydia along with all the other Std's. My question is would it have showed up in my blood or urine if I had an Std? Also how long does it take for those test results come back?

To test for chlamydia and gonorrhea, for instance, all that is required is a urine sample. For other STDs– like herpes, hepatitis, HIV and syphilis, a small blood sample is all the STD testing center requires.
