Polycystic ovarian syndro
I am unmarried and having pcos.I have maintained normal weight. My period occur every month but takes 10 days more i.e. at an interval of 40 to 45 days. I used to take medicine but stopped since 1 year since somehow periods happen within 45 days. But I have heard that pcos causes infertility. Will it happen in my case also? Can I avoid this problem? What are the chances of infertility in this case?

Polycystic ovaries is a terminology used to describe the appearance of ovaries in some women. Unless it's associated with irregular periods or excess hair growth/ acne it's not a syndrome. PCOS can cause infertility sometimes due to ovulation problems. If you are overweight try changing your lifestyle and add exercise in your daily routine. 5-10% drop in body weight quite frequently leads to resumption of spontaneous ovulation in which case treatment may not be required.
