Hie I am 23 year old female, I recently got diagnosed with autoimmune hypothyroid with high high antibodies, my endocrine suggested me to do further test like DHT (increases male hormones) , use for abdomen and pelvis My dht results are normal , my ovaries ultra sound shows bilateral polycystic ovaries, what does this mean My menses are very much regular and on time, I din't even gained weight , or have anyother symptoms except few acne , but that too is subsided . so what does this mean?? I also checked my sugar and cholesterol both of them are normal

Hi there I understand your concern...Normally people with this will have anovlation (no egg release), oligomenorrhea (scanty periods) or even amenorrhea (no menstrual period)....you may also experience pimples, weight gain, excessive hair growth on your body,sometimes even depression and mood swings etc...You should decrease carbohydrate intake, take foods made-up of whole grains like whole wheat bread, Decrease fat intake and increase protein content. Take high fiber diet, fruits, vegetables but avoid starchy vegetables like potatoes. Take plenty of water avoid sugar drinks....Consult nearest gynecologists they will do the needful.
