Hi... The HIV virus is highly infectious but it does not survive for a very long time if left in open air (oxygen). The HIV kit does not contain HIV virus but if it has just tested someone having the virus and at the same time an open wound of some other healthy person comes in direct immediate contact of that surface containing the virus, than there is a cause of concern. In such situations or even if you have developed any doubts about it. It is best to get tested. These days it is a very simple, affordable procedure available at most hospitals nearby. It is not wise to keep this doubt in your mind. If this anxiety is being caused out of no real threat and it continues even after getting a negative HIV report from a hospital/doctor, than it suggests the possibility of health anxiety/hypochondria. In that case, you need to consult a Psychiatrist and a Psychologist.
Next Steps
Get tested for HIV in a nearby hospital and consult a General Physician (doctor) to clarify any doubts.
If your anxiety persists even after a negative HIV report and post a doctor consultation than it may be attributed to health anxiety/hypochondria. Consult a Psychologist and a Psychiatrist in that case.
