Platelet count 45000
My father had high fever with shiver two days back. His platelet count was 41k on the day before yesterday. Yesterday it was 47k and today it's 45k. His Dengue & Malaria tests are negative. What could be possible reason for low platelet & how much time it will take to regain this count.

You should get him admitted to a hospital first. Such A low platelet count usually is associated with dengue or a viral infection can cause such a picture too..negative dengue tests do not rule out the possibility of it. There seems to be an increasing trend in the counts which is a good sign. Consult a physician at the earliest
