Persistent dry cough for almost a week
I had a throat infection almost a week ago after eating out. It gave me a sore throat and cough. Now that sore throat is gone but have a persistent dry cough. It gets bad as the day progresses. From about a day or two, I have been having pain just underneath my right ear as if the gland is swollen. What should I do?

You seem to be suffering from post viral cough which is common type dry cough syndrome after an attack of viral upper respiratory tract infection. Usually it will resolve on its own within few days. You can use dry cough syrups, strepsils like lozenges and steam inhalation for faster recovery
Next Steps
Consult nearby ENT specialist for confirmation of diagnosis and appropriate treatment if required
