I've had persistent cough for 15 days and it's getting worse. I am coughing up thick green/yellow phlegm. I get frequent coughing fits. Sometimes the coughing is so bad that it causes pain in the ribs.

Hello, Cough from 15 days with yellowish sputum suggestive of lower respiratory tract infection . Do you have other associated symptoms like fever , chest pain , body weakness etc..? It could be tuberculosis or pneumonia. Quit smoking if you have that habbit. Get blood and sputum examination done . you may need antibiotics . Chest x Ray is also required sometimes .
