Painful cycstic acne
Cystic acne appearing since last year mainly on my jawline specifically on right side of face, is painful and has left many unpleasant scars both on my face and my self esteem. Recently diagnosed with Hypothyroidism and started with 25mg Eltroxin. Is hypothyroidism causing acne or is there a hormonal problem,if yes for the latter,which tests should I go through? Could there be any other cause ? Thankyou.

Hi.... Wash problem areas with a gentle cleanser. Twice a day, use your hands to wash your face with a mild soap and warm water..... Avoid irritants. You may want to avoid oily or greasy cosmetics, sunscreens, hairstyling products or acne concealers. Use products labeled water-based or noncomedogenic, which means they are less likely to cause acne.
Use an oil-free moisturizer with sunscreen.....
