Ovarian cyst
Can a cyst inside the ovary can be removed without removing the ovary? I have 6cm cyst which is fluid filled inside my ovary, does this need to be removed or it can go away on its own?

Yes, cyst can be removed leaving ovary behind. It depends on the type of cyst and the health of the remaining ovarian tissue also. Cysts do not go away on their own. Medications and surgery are recommended.

Hello, I understand your concern. For an ovarian cyst of 6cms, surgery is not advised. Repeat scan after three months and consult.

7 cms we do surgery, 6 we can wait. Repeat sonography to see it's resolution. Yes cyst alone can be removed without removing ovary through laparoscopy cystectomy
