Acute pain in thigh from past two weeks ... doctor have suggested for surgery .. can it be treated with antibiotic

osteomyelitis is a chronic disease . It has to be treated with surgery to remove the focus of infection. antibiotics cannot reach there as the blood supply to that area is hampered. But i would like to know some details. If there is discharging pus from any side the area where pain is there.
