Hi. Oral herpes -or herpes labialis, usually improves and settles within a week, unless one has any immunocompromized condition. A course or prescribed antiviral medication is suggested, especially in the first episode, or during frequently recurrent episodes. Antibiotic creams may be applied on wounds or herpetic ulcers on the outer lips or skin.
