Hi, I am Dr. Atul Kumar Nimawat MS ENT Ofloxacin + Ornidazole is not the standard first-choice antibiotic for tonsillitis, but some doctors may prescribe it if, there is suspicion of a mixed bacterial infection (aerobic + anaerobic organisms). The patient is allergic to penicillin group drugs. Previous treatment has failed or local resistance patterns suggest benefit.
