My mother's provisional diagnosis has been Schizophrenia. She used to be very restless earlier. And she has not come in terms to accept her illness, which I believe is fine. I was consulting a psychiatrist in Gwalior and they had prescribed oilcare and other tablets which have helped her stay calm. She has felt stable and relaxed in last couple of months. However, now as she has stopped taking her meds the distress seems to be overwhelming again. I am not a full time caretaker and I try to help as much as I can considering that I have my issues as well, there are times when I get this thought of ending life. I am able to take care of myself and look at my life positively. When it comes down to my mother, I fail to find any possible ways in which I can help her. This evening I found her talking to herself. I don't know if that is something I should be concerned about or not. I can say one thing that these days she is suffering and feeling low, detached, alone and angry towards the world

People with Schizophrenia often don’t believe they have an illness. Her symptoms can be controlled with medicines. Consult a psychiatrist to restart medications. Dont lose hope! All the best!
