Nightmare about murder. Ominous or not.

I'm going through some major changes in my life right now. Last night I saw an elaborate dream about a serial killer. It felt like a movie. I was initially part of the plot as I discovered a certain serial killer's hide out and shared the info with my mom. My mom ( who transformed to a different woman) started following the killer who was known for abducting children and killing them. My mom then transformed to this woman who had been raising awareness about this killer in her grandsons school. At this point it felt like I'm watching a movie. The serial killer kills again, but this time, only clueless, naive women who actually believed him to be misunderstood and mistreated. The dream ended with witnessing another murder. All the characters in my dream were known actors from television or movies. I had not watched any horror movie or anything during the course of the day. I want to understand if this dream is a warning of something ominous or not.
