Good afternoon... It may be nerve compression in cervical spine in any level so he is feeling pain & numbness in fingers. This is called Cervical Radiculopathy. Causes cam be few Spondylosis/Stenosis/Disc Protrude as well.... MRI can show exact picture and symptoms can correlate the magnitude of problem. But you should go for physiotherapy 1st TENS,Hot Pack, Pulsed ultrasonic, Therapeutic exercises strengthening and flexibility exs. Manual therapy(Mulligan/Maitland/Butler's Neural mobilisation) He has to take proper precautions and try for lifestyle modifications also. Hello... His symptoms are directing towards cervical cord compression...as the nerves are getting compressed between the vertebrae he's having symptoms of numbness weakness and neck pain...depending on the extent surgery would be required...physiotherapy and cervical collar wow give some temporary relief... But will give good results if continued after surgery
