Mycobacterium Tuberculosis
Went for a routine Checkup,7 days back... after USG a Lesion was observed,in Hypogastrium. Done CT followed by FNAC, result was a thick pus. Done the Staining which says , AFB detected. Done the CBNAAT Test: Result, Mycobacterium Tuberculosis not detected. Done the Tuberculin Test : Negative Talked to My Dr. He prescribed her Medicine for TB. Shall I start the course...as I have some doubts with CBNAAT and Tuberculin Test Negative or shall I wait for the Culture for Which results will come after 1 Month??? My wife don't have any symptoms ... Kindly Suggest???

One thing is sure that without having seen AFB, nobody will give as AFB. So trust your primary doctor and kindly continue with tuberculosis treatment. Your wife problem is tuberculosis abscess.so she will not have regular tuberculosis symptoms Trust

Quite unusual site to have extra pulmonary tubercular infection to the extent of detectable lesion as suppuration without symptoms. If slide of AFB Staining is preserved get it re examined by another pathologist. To have CBNAAT and Mantoux negative (2 negatives vs 1 positive) is a bit more in favour ofnon tubercular suppurating lesion. As she is symptom free without discomfort, it is prudent to wait for culture report.
