I have been to the ER 2 times in the last 3 days. 1st visit: Severe headache, dizzy, neck stiffness, muscle weakness. They treated me with IV fluids, Toradol, and Valium. 2nd visit, tonsils and uvula so swollen and red, red splotches on mouth. I was treaded with prednisone. They swabbed me both visits for strep and mono, I was negative for strep A and mono, but i noticed in my online chart I was positive for Strep Group C (something I wasn’t made aware of). I want to know what this might be.

Hello,
Thanks for your query on Practo
"As" per your clinical history is concerned your 1st visit was due to [a severe headache, Dizzyness, neck stiffness, and muscle weakness] so in my opinion, you should be advised a neurological clinical examination to rule out a migraine and to confirm it you need few investigations like [CBC with differential and one MRI scan] Do check your report .
Secondly, your second visit was due to an infection and treatment is antibiotics and warm saline gargle.
Health Tips
1)Take [Ambival -25mg at bed time to prevent headache 2)Avoid triggers. If certain foods or odors seem to have triggered your migraines in the past, avoid them. 3)Try to reduce your caffeine and alcohol intake and avoid tobacco. 4)Try to establish a daily routine with regular sleep patterns and regular meals. In addition, try to control your stress. 5)Exercise regularly. Regular aerobic exercise reduces tension and can help prevent migraines. If your doctor agrees, choose any aerobic exercise you enjoy, including walking, swimming and cycling. Warm up slowly, however, because sudden, intense exercise can cause headaches. 6)Obesity is also thought to be a factor in migraine headaches, and regular exercise can help you maintain a healthy weight or lose weight. 7)Reduce the effects of estrogen.you may want to avoid or reduce the medications you take that contain estrogen. These medications include birth control pills and hormone replacement therapy. Talk with your doctor about the appropriate alternatives or dosages for you. Hope that helps
