MPB or Chronic Telogen Effuvelium?
I was diagnosed with acute depression around 12 months back. I took medicines for the same till Feb 2017. Since March 2017 I started seeing myself loosing hairs by just putting hand in my hairs. In between Feb to April, I also went for crash diet and lost 11 kgs in 2 months. In July 2017, when I was shredding hairs all the time, I went to dermatologist and she diagnosed me with telogen effevulium. My blood test results showed acute D3 deficiency which i recovered frrom by Sept 2017. I was also told to have diffused thinning all over. I was also prescribed vitamins and minoxidil. while I don't loose hair now by just putting my hand in them but when I massage them with minoxidil I just loose 50-100 hairs everyday even now. I went to another doctor for secondary advice and he didn't say much but directly diagnosed me with MPB. I have 3 pbls- 1. Hairs less density only on sides 2. Less speed of hair growth 3. Top hairs no hair density loss even when I loose them from all over. what i hv?

You are suffering from androgenic alopecia which is also called as pattern baldness. The hairs start reducing in density at the crown (top) and also the hairline starts refeeding  from the front. This is usually progressive throughout life unless treated. This is usually accompanied by severe dandruff which we call seborrhoea. The FDA approved treatment for this condition is a lotion and tablets. There is no other alternative. No oil or cream will magically work because the hairs are getting miniaturised  and eventually disappearing due to the hormonal effects on the hair roots. Please call me or  contact me with photos using online consult option for proper examination and treatment. Do not start treatment without consulting. I can give guidance and then you can continue treatment on your own.,
