Greetings. Minoxidil is actually a US FDA approved drug for hair loss and balding on the scalp and is proven to improve hair growth on the scalp. However, its evidence to promote hair growth in beard area is thin; occasional anecdotal reports do support it- however, I feel its definitely worth a try and has no significant side effects (except mild initial irritation/itching) - unless you are llergic to minoxidil or its solvent.
