Mesenteric Lymphadenitis
My 4 year old son complained lower right stomach pain, I took him for checkup , in ultrasound report it was mentioned Mesenteric Lymphadenitis ( 19mm * 8mm ) . Doctor gave him anti biotics medicine and suggested repeat ultrasound, which came out same as before . . My question is what could be the reason for not getting it cleared in spite of having medication for 20-30 days . Can it be serious ? I am very much

If your child doesn't have fever / weight loss/ he is cheerful , then this is non specific lymphadenitis and is common in these age group. Causes are viral induced/ worm infestation etc. Don't chase it repeated ultrasound , as you will get same findings after 1 year also. This will subside by time. But in between he can get again pain abdomen / vomiting - treat syptomatically.
