Hi,
I wonder if you have already tried the conservative methods like ice packs, rest and physical therapy. If you have not please try out the same. Please take a second opinion by another orthopedic surgeon. The medial part of the meniscus has no active blood supply. Therefore it is very difficult to heal. However, blood supply can be made faster and voluminous by ayurvedic massage therapy. You can try the same for 1 week and assess the results. If results are not very encouraging, you can choose to go for surgery. Even after surgery, you can combine ayurvedic treatment to speed up complication-free recovery.
