Can a just turned 16 year old use benzodiazepines? My sister has been prescribed Valex er in the morning and evapram cz for the night. (She's been having trouble sleeping since last 3 weeks, everytime she sleeps she wakes up to saying she felt a type of vibration around her chest region during the course of the sleep and that she could feel her heart beat (meaning she could hear her heart beat faster or hear the sound of her heart) in sleep. She wakes up in the morning feeling nauseated, she's also been saying sometimes she feels uncomfortable in the right part of her upper abdomen. We've gotten tests done related to thyroid and also have gotten done ecg. Every report came out absolutely normal).

In my opinion your sister is suffering from mild anxiety with mild gastritis. And there is no use of any sleeping pills to be taken at this age. but for the correct information please try to contact me and your parents should talk to me regarding your sister. Please talk to me and I'll explain how to come out from this problem.

I think she needs proper counseling more than medication. I need to talk to her for a greater picture. Take consultation.
