Maximum dose can range upto 60 mg as per weight and metabolic parameters. However risk of side effects increases significantly after 20 mg and should regularly be monitored for cardiac adr and movement disorder. Every pt has different rate of metabolism of haloperidol so there is no ideal dose. If symptoms are under control then you can ask your psychiatrist to decrease some dose.
