Lunula of nail is blue tuft fracture
16 days ago a 10lb dumb bell fell off a bench on to the tip of my right pointer finger. There was no visible nail damage or bleeding under the nail (no lacerations involved at all) but the tip of my finger was fractured. Now my lunula is blue and dried blood is coming up from the cuticle. The cuticle also seems to be lifting from my nail bed. Though the nail seems to be sturdy and attached. Just curious if this is normal and what you think Is happening.

Hi Thanks for your query. The clot formed due to injury will gradually make the nail plate fall off as the new nail forms.
