I am 67 and need surgery under GA but the doctor said I had weak lungs from Covid and asked me to come again after 6 months when my lungs heal..
It has already been a year since I recovered.. My X rays still shows some patch of old infection and mild fibrosis.. No breathing issues ever..
Will my lungs ever heal?

Covid-19 is a novel disease making it tough to predict. In my opinion, your lungs will heal functionally, but it will not be visible in X-rays, as those patches are likely to persist. You will be better off getting a Spirometry test done. Get 1 done now and another 6 months from now.
