Low hemoglobin
My wife is conceived 2 weeks before. We went to gynek. She told me to check my HB. She told, thalassemia needs to be checked if HB is low. I checked my HB today n its 11.6 which is low. Will it creat any problem to baby? Thalassemia test report have not recieved yet. Reply

Hello, thalessemia is not the only cause for anemia. If you have any family history of thalessemia then test is important. Most common cause of anemia is iron and folic acid deficiency . Low hemoglobin level denotes anemia which can cause intrauterine growth retardation , pretem labor. So anemia should be corrected . Get report and consult your doctor
