A serum B12 level of 226 ng/L (pg/mL) falls into the borderline/low-normal zone, while a serum folate of 2.0 µg/L indicates folate deficiency (though 50 days of 5 mg folic acid will have begun addressing this). Oral Supplementation: Sufficient for the vast majority of dietary deficiencies (such as vegetarian/vegan diets) or mild borderline states. Intramuscular (IM) Injections: Indicated if there are active neurological symptoms (tingling, numbness, balance issues, cognitive changes), diagnosed malabsorption (pernicious anemia, celiac disease, prior bariatric surgery, Crohn’s disease), or severe symptomatic anemia. Orally:--High-dose cyanocobalamin or methylcobalamin at 1,000 µg to 1,500 µg (1.5 mg) daily is the standard therapeutic regimen or 2 to 3 months, followed by a lower maintenance dose depending on diet. Injectabe--Typically 1,000 µg intramuscularly every alternate day or weekly for the first few weeks, tapering to monthly maintenance.

Online now
Your B12 at 226 is on the lower end of normal, and your folate should already be recovering on the tablets you're taking.
Next Steps
Whether you need oral tablets or an injection depends on your absorption, so ask your prescribing doctor to decide the form and dose.
Health Tips
Please don't start high-dose B12 or an injection on your own.
